Two fields the plugin explains itself.
For the selection mode and the automation the configuration holds one card each with three explanations and a list of further notes. That is the most precise source there is.
On the selection mode: "If the customer selects another reward, it replaces the previous one within the respective scope of the selection mode: in the group, in the cart value tier or in the entire cart."
On the automation: "If several rewards are available, the plugin picks the first reward with the highest threshold reached." And: "Variant products with several options are not added automatically."
