Reward products go by another name in Shopware 6.

Whoever comes from Shopware 5 searches for reward products. The word is gone in Shopware 6, the thing is not: a reward group, rewards with their own threshold inside it, and a free product or a discount in the cart. What changed in the name and in substance is written down here.

Article became product.

Shopware 6 dropped the word article. With it the reward product disappeared, as a word only. On the left what people search for, on the right what it is called today.

Reward tiersseveral rewards in one group, each with its own threshold

You can check it against our own store listings: the Shopware 5 extension from digitvision is called "Several reward products with tiers", the one for Shopware 6 is called "Rewards, gifts and free products". Read on 13 September 2026.

What takes their place.

The reward group
The container. It carries the name the customer reads above the tiles, its position in the cart and optionally a Rule Builder rule that applies to every reward in it. Several groups run side by side.
The reward and its type
Type product means: a product from the catalogue, a real line item at €0.00 in the cart. Type discount means: a percentage or a fixed amount off the cart. There are no other types.
The threshold on every reward
The minimum cart value belongs to the individual reward, as a Shopware price field with gross and net, separate per currency. What counts is the goods value without the rewards.

Book in-app planAdd reward

Four rewards in one group: that used to be four reward products with four tiers.

Four things that did not exist in this form before.

All four measured in the demo shop, three of them in a test order.

The customer picks the variant

If the reward points to a parent product, the tile carries a select box with every active and available variant. Without a choice the gift cannot be added, so no order arrives without a size.

Stock and sales counter move along

A free product is a sale as far as Shopware is concerned. After the test order the gifted variant showed sales 1 and stock 49, while its sibling variant stayed at 0 and 50.

A bar instead of an announcement

Above the tiles every tier of the group is a dot, below it the amount left until the next one. In the demo shop €4.05 were missing to the €500 tier at a goods value of €495.95, and that is exactly what it said.

Rules from the Rule Builder

Customer group, date range, country, category: the conditions come from Shopware itself and sit either on the group or on a single reward. If the rule on a reward does not match, only its tile is missing.

Questions from those switching over

I worked with reward products in Shopware 5. What do I need in Shopware 6?
A reward group and one entry per gift inside it. The entry is called a reward and has a type: product for a real product from the catalogue, or discount for a percentage or a fixed amount. The minimum cart value belongs to each reward, not to the group.
Is it a reward or a free product now?
Both, for different things. A reward is the entry in the admin, a free product is the result in the cart. A discount is a reward too, just not a product.
Can I tier several reward products?
Yes. All rewards of a group sit side by side, each with its own threshold. In the demo shop those are €100, €250, €500 and €1,000. A bar above the tiles shows every tier and below it how much is missing until the next one.
Does such a gift count as a sale?
Yes. It is a real product line item at €0.00. In a test order the gifted variant afterwards showed sales 1 and stock 49, while its sibling variant stayed at 0 and 50.
Cannot promotions do this out of the box?
For a discount from a cart value they can. But a promotion never puts a product into the cart: it always creates an item of type "promotion". That is exactly what the plugin is for.
Does it run on Shopware 5?
No. This extension is for Shopware 6. For Shopware 5 the store holds its own extensions, from digitvision as well, and there they are still called reward products.
